Active Warranty Area – Official Definition

An Active Warranty Area is counted for billing only when all three of the following conditions are met:

Area Definition

A Unit, Space, or Area Exists – This can be a condo unit, home, or a designated common area (e.g., hallway, gym, rooftop) set-up under Assets – Areas.

Contact Assignment

An Individual or Role Is Assigned – For residential units: a homeowner is assigned. For common areas: a warranty manager or property manager is assigned. These individuals or roles are entered into the Contacts module.

Warranty Activation

A Warranty Start Date Has Been Entered – This date marks the beginning of the warranty lifecycle and activates billing eligibility. In the Area card, you will enter the start date of the warranty.

Once all three conditions are satisfied, the system flags the space as an Active Warranty Area, and it is counted for usage-based billing and prorated in the following billing cycle.
